The 6 Actions

Aspects of the Mandalorian Faith:

To be a mandalorian is to be a part of a warrior collective. Within this collective are multiple clans, each composed of family – blood or otherwise. Each clan is ruled by a leader (alor). To guide and coordinate all these clans, is Mand’alor. The job of a Mand’alor is to keep all Mandalorians walking in The Way.

To be a Mandalorian, is also to understand that there is always conflict, and to embrace this conflict and revel in its glory, rather than to avoid it. Whether you are a soldier on the battlefield facing a physical enemy, an artisan forcing your will on your tools and materials, or if you are a witness to the abuse or mistreatment of another on the street of a city, you are expected to understand you will always face conflict and should not avoid situations that will put you in conflict with those who are not Mandalorians. By avoiding conflict, you lose yourself.

As a member of a Mandalorian clan, the individual is not lost. Personal traits and exploits are celebrated. However, it is understood that all members of our clan and family, and have value and complement each other, and if one member of the clan fails, the clan fails.

To become a Mandalorian, a person must swear an oath to abide by the guidelines of the Resol’nare, or the Six Actions.

They are:

  1. Wear your armor.

– I swear I will wear my armor

2. Speak the language.

– I swear I will speak the language of my people

3. Defend yourself and your family/clan.

– I swear I will defend myself and my family

4. Raise your children or foundlings as Mandalorians.

– I swear I will raise my children as Mandalorians

5. Contribute to your clan’s welfare.

– I swear I will contribute to the welfare of my clan

6. When called upon by the Mand’alor, rallying to their cause.

– I swear that when I am called upon by Mand’alor, I will rally to their cause.
